LAUDATIO

What is LAUDATIO?

LAUDATIO stands for Long-term Access and Usage of Deeply Annotated Information and is an open access research data repository for historical linguistic data that was developed with respect to the requirements of historical corpus linguistics. For the access and (re)use of historical linguistic data, the LAUDATIO repository uses a flexible and appropriate metadata schema with a subset of TEI customized by TEI ODD. The extensive metadata schema contains information about the preparation and checking methods applied to the data, tools, formats and annotation guidelines used in the project, as well as bibliographic metadata, and information on the research context (e.g. the research project). This documentation contains a working version of the

The repository was and continues to be developed and maintained by an interdisciplinary group of people at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Currently, LAUADTIO is undergoing an extension in the context of the TextPloring project to support broader exploration capabilities and the inclusion of metadata requirements from the field of history.

What can you do with it?

All corpora are available with open access in LAUDATIO, so researchers from various academic disciplines can use and re-use the corpora.

The following functions are currently supported and documented in the corresponding chapters under User Documentation:

  • browse corpora,
  • display corpora,
  • search corpora,
  • download corpora,
  • upload new annotations to an existing corpus
  • and upload new corpora.
